The 1 oz Silver Britannia coins were first produced as Silver coins in 1997 and are renowned for their beauty and trustworthiness, which continues with the 2022 Silver Britannia Brilliant Uncirculated coin.
The 2022 Britannia coin from The Royal Mint has four distinctive security features.
The first security element is a wave pattern in the background that captures light on the ground of the coin.
The second security element is Britannia’s shield. It displays fine, smooth lines.
The third element features a holographic image of a padlock within a small circle in the lower left corner.
The fourth security enhancement displays the Latin phrase “Decus Et Tutamen,” It is micro-etched in very small type along the inner rim of the coin.
