As a legal tender release by Niue, the obverse displays the distinctive Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions encircling the rim include, “ELIZABETH II . NIUE . 25 DOLLARS. 2021.”
The reverse of this 2021 Niue Lord of The Rings Frodo Baggins 1/4oz Gold Proof edition features Frodo Baggins depicted gazing thoughtfully at the One Ring resting in his open palm. The background engraving shows his loyal friends Samwise Gamgee and Merry Brandybuck, resting.
